L'Oreal Eye Shadow in Nudes

I didn't plan on buying any makeup when I just went in for my face wash, but let's face it. When you walk by it, it's hard to resist. I just happened across these shadow colors by L'Oreal. I've never bought many products from this brand, but I decided to give it a go since I love nude and brown colors, and these had a variety of shimmery and matte shades.

Brown Eye Shadwos Review

This does say palette 1. There were two there, but the second one was more pink tones, which I don't tend to use as much, so I stuck with number 1. I assume they are copying a bit off of the Naked palettes.

This came with 10 total shades. 6 are shimmery, and 4 are matte. So far, I like mixing them up with each other, and have used most of the shades. I have pale skin, so I don't use the darkest shade a ton. If you have darker or more olive skin, those may end up being your favorites.

For being a drugstore brand, I really like this shadow. I like that it includes two types, and the shades are all blendable with each other. It's also nice that with one compact you have ten shadows. It also came with a brush. I use my own, but the bristle end of the brush is actually pretty decent since the ones that usually come with drugstore shadows are crap.

L'Oreal Nude Palette Color Swatches

Brown and Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I took two photos of the shade swatches in sun and shade. The very first color on the far left can be a bit hard to see on my skin color. These are in the same order as in the compact. The one thing I didn't like was that these shadows aren't given a name. They are just numbered one through ten. It just would have been more fun with real names.

This shadow was worth the buy in the end, and I am tempted to get palette 2 at a later date. It also makes me curious to try more from this brand. Does anyone else have good luck with L'Oreal products?

  1. I have never tried L'Oreal makeup but I am a sucker for a great eye palette! This one has some great shades! I would prefer they use names to - it is much more fun to play with the kit when the shades are named. But the colors are great! Thanks for the review! Susan

  2. It's good when they provide you with a bunch of different color options so you can mix and match depending on your skin tone.

  10. This looks pretty, but for whatever reason I do not look good in eyeshadow. I either don't apply it correctly or just haven't found my color yet! It just seems like anytime I try to wear it the result is not better than what I started with lol. xo

  12. Thanks for the review! Those colours look really good for drugstore eyeshadow.

And I love L'oreal. If you're only going to try one other thing make it the L'oreal brow plumper! It is the perfect lazy girl product for brows - it's basically a drugstore version of the super hyped Benefit Gimme Brow! I would definitely recommend!
