Fresh Start 2015 - Memory Jar

Looking for a new tradition to start for 2015? This may be it! My husband I started this last year, and it's something that we'll definitely keep doing in the years to come. It simple, doesn't take a lot of time, and really is a lot of fun to look back on.

New Years Jar

New Years Resolution

Throughout 2014, we wrote some of our favorite moments down on scrap papers, and put it in our jar. As you can see, it included my husbands hospital bracelet from his trip to the ER. Some of our other favorites we pulled out were the purchase of our new camper, vacation memories, and fun date nights! We opened it at the beginning of 2015. It was such a good look back on the year, and to really emphasize how blessed we are. It's just so easy to take that for granted.

We didn't start this until a few months into the year last year, so hopefully we'll have a few more to look at in 12 months; regardless it was so great to look back on these memories!

What is your favorite way to look back on the past year?

  1. I love this idea! I've seen it on pinterest, but now I really want to do it! It will be fun to go over with the kids on New Years eve! It will be interesting to look back on too. My oldest son has autism so this would be a cool way to keep track of all the progress he makes too!! I'm hoping our jar will be filled with milestones that the kids reach, fun memories, as well as my first Etsy sale! lol xo

  4. Cute! I've seen this on Pinterest and have wanted to do it for the past couple years, but it always seems to get away from us. Maybe 2015 is the year!

  9. This is such a great idea. I'd have to put it somewhere super-obvious knowing the two of us but it's worth a try considering how neat to see all you did a year ago.
