This or That #6 - Concealer Sticks

It's time for another This or That series post! This time around, it's all about concealer sticks. I don't use concealers so much for cover up, as I do to cover up under eye circles. Occasionally I'll use it for a problem area. I like something that is easy to blend, and easy to apply.

Benefit Concealer Review

Benefit Fake Up:

I'll just start by saying that I really like Benefit products. It lives up to his reputation as a great brand. I actually got this concealer stick with my Birchbox points when I was still getting that last year. It has a clear ring around the concealer center that is supposed to give your skin some moisture. I can't say this ring did a whole lot for me, but I liked the concealer part. It was easy to blend and was thick enough to cover under eye circles. The down side to this product is that it's $24 for 0.12 ounces.

CoverGirls Concealer Review

CoverGirl True Blend Fixstick:

When my Benefit was running low, I decided to try out something new. CoverGirl has been a great brand for me in the past. The great thing about this one, is that the price tag is only $8. It goes on really easy, and I love that it's like a pencil. It does take a little more of the product to get the job done. The bottom of the stick simply rolls more of the concealer up. I don't feel like it blends quite as easy, but it's not far off.

Under Eye Concealer Review

Left: Benefit   Right: Covergirl

Overall, if I had to choose one to repurchase, I think it would be the CoverGirl. The price has a big factor in this decision, since the products perform pretty similarly. Again, I use the products for minor blemishes, and under eye circles for the most part. But the CoverGirl gets the job done for me, and at a third of the cost!

What is your favorite concealer to use?

  1. I rarely use concealer but when I do I always go for a lower price one as I think they are all quite similar.

  2. I love Benefit but usually I go with a Mac concealer. I've never tried the Covergirl one though, I might have to next time!

  4. I've always been curious about that CoverGirl concealer stick because I've seen other girls use a super dark shade to contour - I'll have to try it out for my under eye circles!

  5. I love when you can find a drugstore product that performs just as well as the higher end ones!! My go to concealers are NARS and MAC - i'll have to try this covergirl next time! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  6. Great comparison! I really love the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer for under my eyes, but am still searching for a good one for covering blemishes and spots. I have a mini of the Fake Up that I haven't really used very much yet, but I need to pull it out and see how it compares to the other ones I have.

  10. Hmm I've never used the Covergirl one but I have the Benefit Fakeup and it's done wonders for me! I'll try the Covergirl one since it seems to have a slight edge over the Benefit concealer. Thanks for such a great and honest review!
