This or That #3 - Shampoos

The This or That series is back again this week! We are almost to the weekend - it is just me or has this week just flown by? The weather has been so nice we have been able to keep our air off all week and enjoy the temps.

For this weeks series, I am going to review 2 types of shampoo that I am currently using. My usual kind was almost out, so I grabbed a new one to try!

Living Proof Shampoo Review

Biolage Exquisite Oil Shampoo Review

I have been using the Living Proof brand for about a year now. The bottles are small, and I was close to running out again. I received a sample of the Biolage Matrix Exquisite Oil shampoo, and liked it so decided to try a full size.

Living Proof:
The great thing about this shampoo is that it is sulfate free. I also like that Jennifer Aniston is part owner, because she just always has awesome hair. They have a line for repair and a line for volume that I have tried. The repair version works the best for me. It work so well if you are a person who doesn't wash their hair every day.

The bad news about this is that it isn't cheap for such a small bottle, however it does get you a ton of Sephora points if you buy it there. The other con is that it doesn't come in a bottle that is any bigger, and that is kind of annoying.

Biolage Exquisite Oil:
This shampoo makes my hair so shiny and soft, and smells great. It comes in medium or large sized bottles, and it price friendly! A little goes a long way with this stuff, and makes it makes your hair look so healthy!

The cons of this shampoo is that it makes my hair pretty greasy on the second day, so it's hard to go more than that without washing again even with dry shampoo. This shampoo is also not sulfate free, which is bad for your hair.

At the end of the day, the product that I would pick is the Living Proof. It's just like anything else, you get what you pay for. It really is such a great product and keeps my hair so healthy, with the only real down side being the cost. But if you get things back in your Sephora points, then its worth it right?!

Have any of you tried these products? What did you think?

  4. I've heard so many things about the Living Proof line - always a bonus when Jennifer Aniston is involved! I've been loyal to my shampoo/conditioner (Biolage Matrix Color Care) since I was in high school, so I doubt I'll be changing any time soon ... but you never know! :)

  5. I've always heard great things about Biolage which is the same thing with Living Proof too!! I have a really hard time paying so much for shampoo, but maybe I can get travel sizes and then use those lol!

  6. I use the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day lave in treatment and I absolutely love it! It's pricey and the bottle is tiny but a little goes a long way! I have yet to try Living Proof shampoo though!

  8. I love Matrix products. My mom actually gets them at wholesale price through her job so I've tried all sorts of different ones.

  12. I've never tried Living Proof! I am using a basic sulfate-free shampoo right now by Aveeno, and I love it. But my normal go-to is Biolage. If you love LP more that B, I might have to give it a try!

  13. I need to be better about trying new shampoos and conditioners, I tend not to be picky but I wonder if invested in a quality brand would make me notice a difference in my hair.

  15. I have not tried either! I definitely agree, though... you get what you pay for. It is so funny... I used to always go for the cheapest products and then I was like, "Wait. This $5 shampoo lasts me over three months. I should be willing to pay more for that!"
