I don't know how many of you know, but I hate wearing lipstick. My lips are always so dry, that lipstick just looks terrible when I do wear it. I stick to chapstick and eos lip balm for the most part, and maybe some tinted Burt's Bees.
Bur you guys! I have found the magic solution.
Clinique's Black Honey Almost Lipstick.
I purchased mine at Sephora for $16. And it is so worth it. It goes on like a lip balm, but stays on like a lipstick, and give me color like a lipstick. The cool thing is that it gives each person a different color based on their pH. I don't even know how that's possible and how can you even really know, but all I can say is I love it.
This is a swatch on my arm, and then again on my lips. It looks way darker in person than actually on your lips. Thank goodness for my sister having this and making me try it out.
Other exciting tid bit: They just came out with an eyeshadow palatte that has the same concept behind it - that it looks great on everyone, and a little different depending on the features. I am pretty sure that will be my next eye shadow purchase!
Have you tried this? What was your take?
Oh thank you! I hate lipstick too! I thought that I was the only blogger who hates it! I am going to try this one! Thanks! What is the name of the eye shadow? Susan
ReplyDeleteI love a good sheer color you can wear every day. I love lipstick but usually only for when I'm going out. That color really looks great on you!

I LOVE clinique lip colors . You should try Clinique different lip stick in Sweet Honey. You will love it I promise! XO
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect solution for you!!! I love the color on your lips and so cool that it changes with each person!!
ReplyDeleteI have the same issues, my lips are always so dry I never wear lipstick. I cannot wait to try this. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely will have to check this out! My favorite lip products are the ones that adjust to your ph, the Dior one, though pricey, is great, but Pixi also makes one, I think at close to the same price point as this Clinique one. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool, I saw something similar from It Cosmetics and have been intrigued!!
ReplyDeleteI love those pH balanced type of products. Sephora makes a really good pink chapstick/lipstick like that as well. It changes colors even on me depending on the day!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great color! You would love Clinique's Chubby Stick. I have it in Voluptuous Violet (not as purple as it sounds!) and it's the perfect balmy color for fall!

Looks great on you! I like wearing lipstick, but definitely have those days when my lips are just way too chapped to look good. I'll have to give this stuff a try.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually on my way to the clinique counter this afternoon for some more moisturizer.. I will definitely be asking about this lip color!
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm so excited that you finally tried this out - isn't it amazing? It has been a staple in my collection for years. My mom actually is the one that introduced me to it. Glad you're enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteWow who knew it'd be so much more light - and flattering - on than in the tube! I didn't think Becky would go goth, but ya never know ha ;)
ReplyDeleteSo one of my goals was to try out bright lipstick this year.... still hasn't happened yet haha! But this might be a good way to ease my way into it.

Girl this looks awesome!! I had a lip gloss that was similar with the color changing based on your pH and I was obsessed with it, and of course they stopped making it :(. I am so glad I saw this post!! I will be purchasing this! I love your make up reviews! I always find the best products!!

I don't like lipstick either! But am starting to think I need color on my lips so it's a tough situation! This might be the perfect compromise!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely, thanks for sharing! x

Wow! What a high-tech lip balm you have! The concept behind the different colors/change in pH makes sense, but how it works ....it must be magic! Such a cool idea and concept for sure! I might have to try this one. I too have dry lips and I think most lipsticks look ridiculous me. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of this before, but forgot about it! It seems like it would be a great lip color for work because it sounds maintenance free. Definitely will be looking into this!

I've been hearing about this lipstick for years, I think my Mom may have owned it back in the day! I'm really considering picking it up since I'm trying to dip my toes into darker lip colours. This one seems like it would be super wearable, but still give that hint of a fall lip feel!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about this but never realized it was a product that used your ph balance for the shade-- so cool! As far as texture/color payoff would you say it's similar to a Revlon lip butter?
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I'm gonna have to try this for sure!
