I know I'm one of many when I say that on hot summer day, I just can't stand wearing a full face of makeup! It gets sticky, hot, and feels thick. It runs, doesn't stay, and isn't breathable.
Because of this, I wear totally different makeup on days that are super hot, that I know I'll be outside a bunch. It feels so much lighter, breathable, and much less of that "makeup" look. It looks so much more natural!
Products I used for my summer lightweight look:
Dr. Brandt Pore Refining Primer
The Body Shop BB Cream
Elf Under Eye Concealer
Covergirl & J. Cat Eyeshadow
The pore refining primer was an ipsy bag item - I'll discuss it in a later post. But just know that it feels like silk going on, and works great as a primer! It doesn't even feel like it's on!
I love this BB cream - it starts out white and goes to a tone that matches your skin tone. It has enough coverage to cover slight blemishes, but isn't so heavy that it feels like it melts off your face.
The Elf under eye concealer is a cheap alternative, and it also super light weight. Do you notice a theme here? Lightweight makeup is key! This is enough to make the BB cream blendable and cover dark circles, but isn't thick.
The J. Cat shadow is also another Ipsy bag item - it just looked too summery of a shade not to use! I used the darkest shade out of the Shimmering Sand palate from Covergirl. This made for a slight statement without being too dark.
I topped it all off with a swish of Elf bronzer. This gives a great shimmery tone with a little color that isn't too much. And I always finish everything off with Buxom Mascara. This has been my go to mascara for years, and no matter what else I try this is just my fav.
What are your light weight summer products? Have you used any of these? What is your take on it?
