How long was that week?!?! FOR-EV-ER! But, we made it to the end. I didn't post yesterday - working three 12 hour shifts in a row really kicks your butt sometimes. And I spent Thursday preparing for the shower this weekend! If you follow me on instagram (you can do that by the link to the right), you saw a preview of some DIY projects for it!
I'm going to warn you, today's five is going to be random, because I felt like being random. But here are five of my picks. Or really just randomness that stuck in my head this week!
I found this recipe on pinterest. And then bought all the ingredients. How amazing does this sound?! I think I am going to do my own spin on it and actually make it a cake, so I'll keep you posted on how that turns out. Hopefully making this on Sunday. I. Can't. Wait. I'm pretty sure this will be my favorite dessert of all time. Who's with me?!
I have been looking all over for a lace vest like this. I found one a while ago, and held off on buying it because I was iffy about the price tag. And now I am kicking myself you know where, because I can't find a similar enough version that I like. One of you lovely reader informed me of an app called "the hunt" where people help you in situations like these. I think it's time to try it.
I gave in to the peer pressure of pinterest and commercials and bought this. Everyone said it worked so well. I hated it. I felt like all it did was leave my face feeling greasy and clog my pores, making them more noticeable. I'm glad Maybelline is a cheaper brand, because I doubt the rest of the tube will get used. Did anyone else try this with similar results?!
Thursday was my husbands 29th birthday, and he actually had to work. Bummer. So I made him gooey butter cake to take in with him. I'll let you know what he thought of it. I will post the recipe next week along with the Harry Potter one if you are interested. It smelled so good coming out of the oven, it was all I could do not to stick my finger in the middle.
Pinterest heavy post today - because that's where I found this too. I am so glad I ran across this, I needed it. This week at work was such a sad week. I literally watched two people die, even as we did everything to save them. I love my job as a nurse, and even in the saddest situations, it makes me so thankful. Thankful, that at the end of my long hard shift and my feet hurt and I'm exhauseted, that I can walk out of the front doors on my own two healthy legs. This quote was such a pick me up this week - maybe someone else needs it too!
Stay tuned next week for some shower DIY's, recipes, and an OOTD post! How are you spending your weekend?
Love that quote. I needed that pick me up too.

Things always appear when we need them the most, as long as our eyes are open to them. I always think thats amazing, but it always seems to happen! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've heard not so great things about the pore eraser, I think I'll def steer clear now. Sorry you've had a rough couple of days! Love the last pic, great reminder for sure :) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOk you sold me on Butter Beer Cupcakes. Those are definitely getting made (and eaten) by me ASAP! I haven't tried that Baby Skin stuff but everyone says great things about it. It does make me nervous that you didn't have a great experience though. I don't always have the same results as the general consensus. Have a great weekend!
