Guest Bedroom, redone!

For the past few months, we've been working on getting our guest bedroom redone. It's finally all finished! Most of the items we used were salvaged or DIY, and I am so happy with how it all turned out! It has been so fun having guest visitors since, even if it was just our parents. It was a bit slow going at first as we decided what we wanted, but it all came together so well.
We love the colors that we picked for the walls. The main color is a brown with an almost grey tint to it. It tends to change a bit as the light in the room changes. Then we went with white and yellow stripes at the top! Our bed spread is from Target, and is so comfy and warm I am thinking about purchasing one for the living room as well.
The tray on the bed was made from a salvaged piece of barn wood with handles from Hobby Lobby that we screwed in ourselves. The lamp I found on sale at Meijer, and it's shade matches our curtains almost perfectly.

Some of the decorations were what my sister used to decorate with at my bridal shower a year ago (green candles, jar with burlap flower). The dress form and dress picture holder I took from my mom's garage sale pile at home. The blue mason jar was salvaged from an old farm house, and the owl is from Target.

The beautiful old headboard was salvaged from an old farmhouse as well, and was the front door. With a little cleaning, it looks so rustic and is just the look I wanted! The vase frame is  home DIY my husband completed, and the white mirror frame is another item that I took from my moms yard sale pile. One man's trash is another man's treasure right? The stick on words are from Hobby Lobby as well and were super easy to apply.

It took forever to find curtains that tied at the top, but we finally found them at Target. This wood is also salvaged from a barn, and the hooks we purchased from Menards. I used old door knobs to hold the curtains back - I love the look they give it!
Let me tell you, getting decent looking pictures with that light on the ceiling was terrible - what a horrible orange glow to try and edit out! But I couldn't wait to share it with you! We are so happy with the end result - I may just have to sleep in there myself for a night :)

  1. Love all the salvaged and vintage pieces! I always (if I can) take pictures when there is the most natural light streaming into a room. Then you don't get the shadows from the lights inside the rooms. Thanks for sharing you did an amazing job!

  16. Looks great! Very shabby chic! I wish we could redo our guest bedroom - it is pretty much where we keep all of our stuff we don't know where else to put. Needless to say, it is kind of a disaster!
