Happy Valentine's day! I hope that it is filled with tons of chocolate! I was having a sweet tooth craving, really all week. For rice crispie treats. These things are more addicting to me than oreos and milk. But I wanted to make extra gooey ones this time, so I hopped on pinterest to find a recipe. I took a combination of a few that I found and made these. Let me warn you, they are so good they won't be around long!
-1 stick of butter
-3/4 c brown sugar
-3/4 c sugar
-1 bag of marshmellows
-1 1/2 tsp vanilla
-8 cups rice crispies
The first step is going to be melting the butter. Do this over low to medium heat so that it doesn't easily burn. When the butter is melted, add in both the sugars and melt completely. You want all the sugar grains to be melted. If the consistency is grainy, it won't mix right.
Once this mixture is well melted, add in the whole bag of marshmallows and melt well. Again, do this over medium heat.
Beware at this point of marshmallow lovers. They will beg and plead for a bite of marshmallows and cereal.
After this marshmallow and sugar mixture is melted, pour in the rice crispies and stir well. It will be thick at first, but will stir up well. Pour the mixture into a 9X13 pan that is sprayed with a non stick spray and let set up.
Enjoy this extra sweet treat on Valentine's day!
