Snowmageddon

I'm not sure where all my readers are from, but I am sure at least some of you were affected by this "cold vortex" as the news is calling it. Unfortunately, I still had to go to work in it as well as the hubs. I was so glad we made it home to our safe, warm, beds and the fur baby. I am so ready for warmer temperatures. Like say, something above a -30 windchill??
Thank goodness for garages right? This does not make me miss apartment life at all. I do not miss digging out my car, and I know several co workers whose cars were buried under over a foot of snow. Some of them even spent the night at the hospital, because they were afraid they wouldn't make it back in for the next shift.
And this was floating around our unit, because let's face it, this is how health care works :) Seriously though, I do love my job.
So after working all weekend, I decided to treat myself. I literally did not step out of my home on Monday. I slept in, stayed curled up with the puppy, took a long bath, took a nap, and just did some laundry. Speaking of bath, a while back I bought a bath bomb from LUSH. It was called Lord of Misrule in case you want to purchase too. I have had several bath bombs, but this one takes the cake. The effects were so cool, and in the end it turned my whole bath water pink. I will definitely be purchasing more from them soon!
Seriously, how awesome is that? My bath caddy also conveniently has a wine glass holder. So I took full advantage of that in my new wine glass that my sister got me for my birthday. You may not understand it if you don't speak medical talk. But I love it!
I am hoping that the weather clears up a bit tomorrow - although I already know that the temps won't increase much - because I have errands to run. An order to pick up from a clothing boutique, cookie ingredients to get, and valentine's day decorations to shop for.

How have you been dealing with the super cold weather?!

  2. This post cracked me up!!! My office never closes and it always amazes me when patients show up in such terrible weather! Three times a day?? That's a tough day ;-) I absolutely love LUSH...I have never gotten a bath bomb but may have to pick one up now. My other favorite wine glass and what I do on some nights is one that says "Dinner is Poured". Stay warm!!

  3. Because I work from home, my work is delayed 'til noon today but I still have to be in on time - boo! But I avoided leaving the apartment at all costs yesterday, even though Loola needed to be walked and pottied every once in a while (but even she did her business as quickly as possible and pulled me back to the apartment door).

  4. Love that wine glass! It's been super cold here but doesn't even touch what you're going through. Its 21 degrees this morning which is extremely cold for SC and the schools are delayed for 2 hours. Us southerners don't know how to handle the cold!

  8. UMMM Brrr. it is negative 8 here in Pittsburgh, and I can't imagine it being any colder. I am so jealous of your garage I warmed my car up for over 15 minutes this morning so that I didn't freeze to death. BTW I love that your bath caddy has a wine glass holder...AMAZING.

  9. This is hilarious! We had some crazy snow weather a couple weeks ago, we also don't close. Patients were still coming in, and it's just physical therapy! Nothing life or death! When I hit 60 if the weather isn't about 50 I'm not leaving my house.

    Sending you warm weather wishes!

  11. I got out of work yesterday, only because the weather guys said more than a few minutes outside would cause frostbite. Thankfully my boss listened! But I'm back in today. Boo.
I love LUSH! The bath bombs are so fun, I just used a purple one over the weekend.

  25. That bath sounds like a nice way to relax!

We live in an apartment with an outdoor parking spot but the management is REALLY good at shoveling the parking lot consistently and helping people get their cars out. We don't have to worry about any shoveling. :) This cold though! Bleh.
