Happy Hearts Day

Valentine's Day is fast approaching! Being newlyweds - can I still call us that 7 months out? - we don't have a whole lot of decorations to our name except for the Christmas ones. And V-day comes so quick I am struggling to find decorations that I like and to get them up before I have to just take them right back down again. I am currently working on a garland for next week, stay tuned for that.
Remember this red picture frame with the winter print inside?
Well, I decided I didn't want to pack it away with all the Christmas stuff only to pull out for one month of the year. So I decided to replace it with a valentine print. But I couldn't find any that I liked, as usual. So I decided on making my own!

So simple and easy! Hopefully, I can do something similar for each season, that way I can use my frame year round. While I am showing you decorations, here's what we have in our entertainment center space so far to replace all the Christmas decor.

The black heart on the stand is from Hobby Lobby - my go to store besides Target for decorations. The angels and the plate stayed the same. While I was at Hobby Lobby I found this M for sale in the clearance section and I knew that it was just perfect. They only had about 8 letters left, and only one M. How lucky was that!? It goes awesome with the mason jar lids and their tops that match. Plus, it's something I can leave up throughout the summer and the spring too. You have no idea how excited that M made me :)
The little cupcake stand has been with me a while, but just in case you are wondering it's from Martha Stewart's collection.
I am also so excited to give dad one of his birthday gifts this weekend. I purchased this frame to hang in his office. It has space for 4 pictures. I put in 2 of my dad and I at the wedding during the father daughter dance, and left the other 2 blank. In June, after my sister's wedding, we'll replace the other 2 with pictures of her and dad. I almost want to copy this and keep it for myself! The little clips are moveable, so you can adjust where they sit according to horizontal and vertical pictures. I got this from Target - surprise surprise!
Does anyone else struggle with getting up V-day decorations like I do?

  1. We've been married 6 months at the end of January and I'm definitely still considering us newlyweds haha! I don't really do any decorations for holidays other than Christmas only because we live in an apartment and have ZERO storage.. the worst part about city living!

  5. So I'm embarrassed to admit this but we still have Christmas decorations up, hahah! We have only been in town for one weekend since Christmas, so that's my excuse. They are coming down this weekend though. I love the frame you made!
