Christmas Recap!

2014! I can't believe it's 2014. I don't know about you, but I will probably continue to write 2013 into the month of February. I haven't even had time to come up with my New Year's Resolutions yet. Because the hubs and I worked Christmas day, we literally got done with our Christmas celebrations 1 day ago. We had a Christmas in 3 cities - Santa Claus, Indianapolis, and St. Louis.
Ryan and I both had pitch in's on our units for work, and being from the ER and the Cardiac Critical Care units, I thought what better sugar cookies to make than ones with heart rhythms on them?! I was so proud of these, and they were really fun to make. Not to mention that they were all gone at the end of the shift.
We went to the Christmas Eve service at church - I was so excited to go and get dressed up! It took 2 tries to get a good picture, and we didn't get any good ones of the dog with us. He just was not in the picture mood.
These are my 2 cookie monsters after they ate half the cookies before I could even get the icing on them. Does anyone else have this problem? I automatically make a double batch every time because I know he will eat them before they get to their destination.
We traveled to Santa Claus, IN to do my husbands family Christmas. You talk about celebrating Christmas - this town is all about it. They have tons of light shows, and we drove through several of them. We packed up snacks and drinks and spent an evening driving around looking at lights. I think this will be a new family Christmas tradition! That is Rudolf working out by the way in the lights :)
Hedwig, is that you? We rescued a baby owl by the side of the road that had been hit by a car - don't worry, she has a good home now. You would not believe how soft her feathers were! Such a cutie!
We just got done with Christmas in St. Louis - and I was so not ready to come back to work for New Years Eve. I just love my mom's decorations, especially the ice skates above the fire place! And I am so jealous of their hardwood floors! We drove to St. Louis with both our pup and my sisters pup in the car. That was an experience in itself. They love playing together though!
I can just hear Ollie and Sadie saying "We want ham!". I should have gotten a picture of Sadie's paws because I painted them pink!
I can't wait to share with you some of the gifts we got - my family was so creative! I am sad Christmas is over, but ready to start looking toward spring!
What was your favorite part of Christmas celebrations?

  15. Those cookies are too witty! Love the excessive amount of dog photos in this post + ahh, thank goodness the owl is ok! Animals that get hit on the road breaks my heart :( (but thankfully, the owl survived and has found a home! It's a Christmas miracle!)
