Recipes from my Holiday Party!

What says Merry Christmas better than an inflatable Christmas village? How obnoxious is this - some people in our neighborhood decorated their yard like this. I couldn't resist snapping a picture!
Don't forget about the link up next Tuesday December 17th! Link up with a post about anything related to Christmas for a chance to be featured on my blog!
I got lots of requests on Monday for the recipes that I used at my holiday party, so here is the post with them all! They are all so easy, and ones that you can make a few days in advance like I did.
You can find these cookies here, at the Baked Perfection Blog. She gives great directions, and the recipe was awesome! I'll be using this recipe to make regular sugar cookies as well! I have a few tips to go with hers as well.
My dough was extremely sticky, even after I added extra flour. I didn't want to keep adding more and make the cookies too dry. So when it came time to roll them, I used an ice cream scoop! I scooped up the dough, and dropped it in the sugar bowl. I also should have waited a bit longer to put the candies on top - and not sat them on top of the warm dishwasher :)
The apple cider recipe came from Broughttoyoubymom.com, and it was delicious and so easy! I didn't do much tweaking to this one, except that I didn't use cinnamon sticks. I just used plain cinnamon to taste. I also never took the oranges out, I just let them soak in there the whole time. For an adult drink, I used caramel vodka, but you can also use whipped cream flavored and vanilla flavored. It's all so good! Do yourself a favor, and try this asap!

The last recipe I used (which I forgot a picture of), were Texas roll ups. The recipe I used was from Happiest Mom on the Blog. These were so easy, and it makes a lot of roll ups, and I even stuffed my shells with a ton of filling. The only thing I changed was that I didn't add olives, because a lot of my friends don't like them. But this recipe is so easy, and so so good. I dare you to try it!
This was Ollie's holiday treat - and no I did not make this. It is from Pet Supplies Plus. He thoroughly enjoyed it, and definitely wanted more. I saw it in the store and knew he just had to have it. We give him treats after I clean his ears, and so this time I gave him his little turkey!
What recipes will you use for your holiday parties?

  8. There are two hoses around where I live and these two neighbors are very much into competing with each other for the best Christmas display; they have so many lights and inflatables it is crazy but fun to look at.

Do you have a cookie scoop? I was making similar cookies and was having the biggest issue with the dough sticking and then remembered I got a cookie scoop for a wedding shower gift and it was seriously life changing!
