It's Friday again! And thank goodness - tonight is my 3rd shift of 3 in a row and then the weekend! Saturday we are hosting a holiday party and I can't wait! I had a lot of things pre-baked since I worked, so I have most of the prep already done. So all that's left to do is eat, drink, play games, and be merry!
For this Five on Friday I decided to do something a little different! I picked my 5 favorite ornaments of all time and I am going to share those! Before I start, let me say that my husband always grew up with a "pretty" tree. As in, the ornaments all match and it looks like a tree out of a store. I grew up with a tree with all of my and my sisters ornaments on them. They don't match, but it still looks great in my opinion. My husband hates these kinds of ornaments. How anti-Christmas is that?!? Here are my faves!
This ornament is from a series that I have collected for 17 years - my mom gets me the new one every year. It is one reason that these pup ornaments are so special to me! It's definitely a tradition I'll start with my babies when the time comes! Every year these are so cute and i look forward to opening it!
This is a series that my grandma recently started getting me, from Hallmark. It's an around the world series, and every year they do a different country of the world and portray how they celebrate Christmas. It's probably not one I would have ever picked for myself, but now that I have a handful, it's actually pretty cool. This one is Spain and it's my favorite!
My mom got me this one on a whim this year, a little as a joke but mostly not. She got it because it reminded her of when my sis and I were little and played barbies and pretend all the time. She said it made her think of good memories. It's big and bulky, but I love it! Plus, it's pink :)
I Love Lucy is one of my all time favorite shows. My sister even mentioned it in her maid of honor speech. So when this series came out it was a no-brainer. Unfortunately, after 6 years, they stopped making them. I really wish they were still out there to collect each year. Each one has some kind of movement with them. In this one, you wind her up and she actually stomps the grapes. In others, she eats chocolate, talks to Ricky, and moves like a ballerina. If you can find these, snatch them up!
This last one really isn't an ornament - obviously. But it's a tree start we picked up from Hobby Lobby this year. It's so perfect and goes with the red and burlap theme that we have going on. It was also half off, which makes it even better. They had a few others, but this one was our favorite!
Now it's your turn! Do you have any ornament traditions or favorites that you put out each year?
