New Tennies and MOH Speech

I am loving my new tennies from my parents for my birthday! Which hasn't happened yet (the 9th). I am obsessed with this color! And they are so incredibly light, I can't wait to run with them. I broke them in today walking my pup. Ignore my mismatched socks - Ollie wasn't willing to wait for me to find a matching pair.
I am also obsessed with my new chevron rug. I found it on accident at Hobby Lobby. All I can say is LOVE! I took one look at it and threw it in my cart. Yes, I shop with a cart at Hobby Lobby.

My sister is in full swing of wedding planning mode. She's planning a June wedding like mine was, and already has half her vendors picked out. I am impressed; she tends to procrastinate. I know as the date for the wedding approaches, I am going to get so nervous about giving my maid of honor speech. Excuse me, matron of honor. I think the word matron just aged me ten years. Ew.
Anyways, my sister's speech was amazing. People still tell me what a great job she did. I still watch it and cry! So I am going to be a nervous wreck trying to live up to it. I already have some drafts for ideas - I want plenty of time to prepare! I thought I would give you a look at how great her speech was, we had a friend take video of certain moments of our day and obviously we included the speeches. It's below! Excuse the terrible video quality - this is my first video upload and I may have a setting wrong, who knows.

Any advice out there from previous maids of honor?!

  1. Aww loved that! I still watch our best man and MOH speeches all the time, too! I've never given one so I don't have much advice there. I am loving those tennis shoes? Do you by any chance know which Nikes they are exactly? I've been looking for a pair like that. Happy Friday!

    1. My friends kid me all the time because they say I relive my wedding every week with the videos, pics, etc. But it was my favorite day ever!!
The shoes are Nike Free Run +3 for women. I know when I looked for them I had a really hard time finding them on Nikes site, but I found them on a ton of other sites as well. Not sure which one my parents got them from. I highly recommend them though - I love them!

  3. oh my gosh that was so sweet! My brother was actually my "maid of honor" and I told him not to worry about a speech because I knew it would stress him out, so literally when it came down to the minute he surprised us and gave a little speech and it meant so much, still a favorite memory!

I love those shoes! I think I have the same pair in black?? It's hard to tell haha but I love them and they're so comfortable!

    have a good weekend!

  14. Your sisters speech is so cute! You will find things to talk about before you give your speech. I was so nervous to give one at my sisters wedding last year, but I think it went well! Just talk about how much you love her and are happy for them as a couple. You'll be great! <3

  16. Happy birthday! Your new shoes are so cute! Love the color. And your sister's speech was so touching! I was tearing up the whole time. My sister gave an amazing speech at my wedding too and I'm dreading the day that I have to get up and give my speech at her future wedding (only because I'm terrified of public speaking). I'm sure you will do great :) Oh and where are you from? I enjoyed your sister's accent.

  21. Oh, why does "Matron of Honor" sound so much worse than Maid of Honor... :P That's what I'll have to be when my sister gets married. I think they need to come up with a new word.
