Key West Favorites!

If you aren't tired of hearing me talk about Key West, Florida yet, then keep reading! This is a picture heavy post - sorry! Keep going til the end to see what we came back to at our house!
Key West is one of my favorite places to vacation. I went the first time with my parents, the second time with a group of 8 other nursing students, and this last time with the hubs and my sis her fiancee. You would think an island that's only 1.5miles wide would get boring, but there is just so much to do and see.
Duval Street is where all the action is. It's blocks and blocks of restaurants, bars, and shops. One of my favorite places to eat is Caroline's.
This restaurant is outside of Dr. Porter's (Key West's first native physician, and his birth place) house that dates back to 1838. It is elevated on what would be a porch, so it is great for people watching on Duval Street. It is casual dining, but it's tremendous for lunch or dinner!
Hurricane Hole is right on a little inlet of the ocean. They say on many days that manatees swim right up to the dock. We didn't see any on our trip, but we went late and it was a bit darker. The food was great, it is literally taken off the boats and straight to the kitchen. The service will be a bit slower here, not sure why. But in reading other reviews for this place, we were prepared. Right next door are several tours you can take. This is where we took our sunset jet ski tour - which was amazing!
I highly recommend it! Experiencing the sunset in the middle of the ocean was so cool, it seemed like we were much closer to it all. Key West also offers kayak tours, sunset boat tours, ghost tours, fishing expeditions, and booze cruises. There is a ton to do if you get bored of Duval Street!

There are several places to stay on the island. All the times I've went, we have stayed at one of the two Hyatts on the island (my parents have a time share so that option ends up being cheaper). However, there are so many cute bed and breakfasts on Duval Street that would be so fun to stay at! I would highly recommend those if you go here!
The best place we ate was Pinchers. So so good. I can't rave enough about their calamari and their margaritas. Yum!! Apparently this is a chain restaurant and there are about 6 locations in southern Florida. This location was great because it was located upstairs and perfect for watching Duval Street. Can you tell I like to people watch yet?
I wish this worked like daylight savings time. Yeah, right. I will recommend however, not scheduling a flight the morning after daylight savings fall back takes place. That was a nightmare. Trying to figure out what time it would actually be and what time to get up was terrible. Never again will we fly out on that day!! But, I was glad for the extra sleep, and extremely glad I didn't have to work that night at the hospital. I am never a fan of working an extra hour from 1am to 2am. Speaking of that, you have no idea how weird it is to document patient information at two 1 oclocks.
Anddd then we came home to this little treat. We had to chop our tree down! The storms around Halloween were really bad. I was so sad, it was so pretty, and my puppy loved to sit under the shade while we did yard work. Not to mention a new tree is not going to be cheap.
I'll leave you with this. It's a typical photo of my husband. Again, don't mind his scruffy beard. I have been told by several friends that I look like the statue of liberty. I should have put a green tint on the picture. (Taken at Pinchers).

We had a blast! This is the last vacation post, I promise! What's your favorite vacation spot?
PS - I mentioned in my last post about the Cinnamon Pumpkin lotion and that I read about it on another blog. That blog was Slice of Life. You should follow her, she's awesome!
