Fall (not Spring) Cleaning!

So if I'm gonna be honest, this is how my Tuesday and Wednesday started. I found this on Pinterest, and it is perfect. Why is it that the day you try to wipe all your laundry out, is the day you really really want a nap?!
Yesterday we painted our guest bedroom (I'll blog about that later). And in the middle of it all, our poor puppy had an allergic reaction to something. So after a 12 hour night shift at work, I came home to this and had to head to the vet. Hive every where!! Don't worry, he's better now. Needless to say, it scared the crap out of me. I was a worried puppy mom. I had never seen this before - have any of you?!
Anyway, then I decided it was time to clean my makeup brushes. Does anyone else hate doing this as much as I do? I'm not sure why I dislike it, besides the fact that it really grosses me out. But here are my simple easy steps to cleaning my brushes.
1. Wet your brush, and put a small drop of cleanser on the bristles. I use my Neutrogena shampoo.
2. Rinse out the shampoo well; you don't want any makeup or shampoo left in the bristle hair.
3. Shape the bristles and lay out to dry.
That's it! It's so easy, again, I don't know why I hate it. I use my clarifying shampoo, because it's purpose is to remove buildup in your hair and scalp. So it works great for buildup in makeup brushes too. Here's the kind I use.
What kinds of "chores" are your least favorite to do?

  2. Your poor puppy!! I hate washing my makeup brushes too so I don't do it too often but I just use my normal shampoo when I do. I can definitely tell a difference when applying makeup when I use clean brushes though!

    1. I had never seen it either! The vet said it was an allergic reaction, but that we'd probably never know what caused it. The steroids helped tremendously!

  11. I absolutely hate putting my clothes away. I will have a spotless house at all times but a secret hidden over-flowing laundry basket in my master closet... te he :)

I soak my brushes in a little vinegar and hot water for about 20 minutes. The makeup falls right off! I use to do the shampoo method. :) Thanks to Pinterest, there are so many ways to do things! I need to do mine.......... I keep putting it off!

  23. That first picture is hilarious because it is totally me! haha I'm awful with folding laundry- it drives my husband insane! I'm the same way with makeup brushes and I'm a bit crazy and get worried I'm not rinsing my brushes out enough (usually my face brushes) so it ends up taking me forever!

So glad your pup is okay! Hope you had a good weekend :)
