Fall Haul and DIY Christmas Wreath

I plan to talk more about our Key West vacation in my next post - but I have been wanting to talk about my Fall Haul! Or at least that's what I've been calling it. I've had some of these products for a bit, and need/want to review them. There are a few products that I used on vacation and want to share. Thanks Birchbox! Stay tuned until the end of the post to hear about the Cheshire Cat!
Burlap Christmas Wreath
My mother in law saw my fall wreath that I made and raved about it. She asked if I would make her one for Christmas and I of course said yes. Go here if you would like to see a tutorial on how to make this wreath. In this particular wreath, I did not use wired burlap. I used strips of burlap cut from a bolt. I wasn't sure if it would look as great, but in the end it looks just the same! Hey, I have to use all that wedding burlap somehow. Word to the crafty people out there - that glitter ribbon was really difficult to work with and made a huge mess. I doubt I ever use it for bows again. It would be better for "weaving", but the mess it makes is almost unbearable. You've been warned!

I received this Supergoop Serum SPF combo in my last monthly subscription. I thought what better place to test it out than on vacation? I really wished I had tested it out before hand, because I loved it and would have loved to take the full size with me. This product is great for so many reasons. It is literally a serum. I have never seen sunscreen like that. It goes on just like lotion without any greasy feel. Normally, my face feels like a greased pig after sunscreen. Not with Supergoop, people! And such a little bit went a long way. This little tube was enough for my face for 5 days! I plan to repurchase for future vacations.
My sister gave me this Living Proof thickening cream sample. She had two; isn't she sweet? I currently use their shampoo and love it. For some reason I wasn't super impressed with this. I took this on vacay also, so maybe it just didn't work well in the humid air. I plan to give it another go here, but I doubt I'll be buying the full size.

I don't have a ton of Bare Minerals products - I'm not sure why, because I usually like them. My sister also gave me this lip color in "Rebel". Not so sure why she was so generous with this sample, because I love it. Lipsticks tend to be drying for me and I tend to avoid them. I really like this gloss, and this shade of pink is perfect! I may go back and get this in more colors. The application wand is slanted for better use, but really, how hard is it to apply lip gloss? Not sure how necessary that was.
This Covergirl blush I've had for a bit. I needed (that's the same as wanted, right?) a new blush but wasn't willing to spend the $30 on the Benefit kind I had been craving. So I attempted this drugstore brand. I do really like it, for a cheaper product. I like that I can swipe my brush across all 3 colors to blend. It works great, but its nothing spectacular in the way of color. Just an average joe blush that gets the job done. This color is "Rose".
I am so excited about these lotions from Bath and Body Works. My mother in law needed to go in to get some work gifts, and of course I went right along. I had picked out the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin right away, because of a review I read on another random blog (cant remember now?!), and it was on sale! The Cashmere Glow was really popular at my work. Nurses and hand lotion is like a magnet because of all the hand washing we do. A fellow nurse left her Cashmere Glow behind on day, and let me just say there wasn't much left when she came back a few days later. Hence why I bought it. I plan to keep mine at home though. Amber Blush was just tried on a whim, because I had to pick out my free bottle in a hurry, but I really like the scent. It has become my new favorite lotion for my legs!
I found out that my husband didn't know who the Cheshire Cat was. Who doesn't remember this cat?! Actually, I think this cat kind of scared me the first time I saw the movie. I showed him this image, and that still didn't ring a bell. So as we sat on the beach, I made him watch a youtube video from Alice in Wonderland. I think he was deprived as a child. I know he enjoyed the clip more than he let on, because he loves cats.
Thanks for bearing with my really random post lovelies! More about Key West will be next! Happy Monday!

  2. Glad to hear you liked Supergoop! I wanted to to get some for last summer but never did. Definitely will this coming year. Don't feel bad about your husband not knowing who the Cheshire Cat is. My husband wouldn't either. I'm always bringing up stuff from my childhood and he has no clue what I'm talking about!

And it's okay, my husband was deprived as a kid too! There were so many shows he never got to experience growing up because he didn't have cable, oh well ;)

  9. Oh my goodness, my husband also didn't know about the Cheshire Cat! I told him he was smiling like a Cheshire Cat one day, and he looked at me like I was a crazy person (not because it was a super weird thing to say, but because he didn't know what it was). I couldn't even believe it haha.

  11. How sweet are you to make one for your MIL! Glitter ribbon is the bane of every craftsters existence. It looks SO PRETTY but is such a freaking pain in the butt! You end up wearing half the glitter by time time you have finally finished, and the other half is on your floor and in your carpet. It's awesome they you could use regular burlap though - it's so much cheaper! I keep seeing this wreath, I might have to try it!

  13. I agree, I don't have too many Bare Minerals products either, but their products are actually really good quality! Their eyeshadows are ridiculously amazing

I've actually been eyeing that Covergirl blush trio for the longest time now, but if you say it's meh/average, I'll skip, haha
I haven't tried 'Cashmere Glow' yet, but I should probably do so now! :D
