The Book World

Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, however it seems as we grow older there is less time to do it. Between work, owning a home, puppies - why did we ever want to be adults?! I can still fit it in on a day off, or on vacations, or before I lay down to sleep. Some of my recent reads I have made it through have been so great, and have become some of my new favorite books.
The Night Circus was a really fun read. If you like things to do with magic, this book is for you. I could not put this book down, therefore it was a quick read for me. The back cover says it all:
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

The next book I read was a bit more serious, but I loved it! It is one of three, and I quickly bought the second and third after having read the first. These are a bit longer than The Night Circus, which I liked because I tend to read books fast. It's also full of drama - this family is their own soap opera. Filled with murder, affairs, and the book writing world, this book was so exciting to read!
Celia Lytton, strong-willed, tough and courageous, moves through life making difficult and often dangerous decisions - with the most far-reaching consequences for everyone...For her husband, Oliver, head of the great family publishing house of Lyttons; for Sylvia Miller, whose life of relentless poverty is transformed by Celia's intrusion; for Oliver's daunting elder sister, who is not all she appears to be; and for Sebastian Brooke, with whom Celia makes the most dangerous decision of all.

Now that I've read these I need new ones! What are your most favorite recent reads? I need ideas!

I am a huge reader and love hearing others suggestions, because normally I just wonder into the book store and find the first book that looks interesting(and sometimes they are not). I just started following your blog on GFC! I can't wait to see what else you have to share!

  10. The Night Circus sounds so good! My favorite book of all time is "My Sisters Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. All of Picoult's books are worth the read!
