Oh Happy Day!

First things first - I am sure you were all waiting on pins and needles - the St. Louis Cardinals clinched the Central Division for the 3rd straight year! Woohoo! I've already decided that I need this shirt.
Second of all, its always a great day when your birchbox arrives! I wasn't expecting it until Saturday. I love getting snail mail to being with, but when I know it has makeup in it, yes. Just yes.

And - yes, there is more. And I went to Sephora. That place is worse than Target. It just sucks you in. And you take one look at all the makeup and poof! Whatever you were thinking (only buy what you came in for) goes right out the window. I went in for shampoo and conditioner and came out with Lauren Mercier primer and a facial peel. Oops.
In case you are wondering, my makeup fits in my new forever 21 pink makeup bag superbly. It was only $6! It is the perfect travel size (vacation is in two weeks!).
Thanks to birchbox, sephora points and beauty brands, I have a ton of beauty samples that I am slowly making my way through. But while my samples are waiting to be tried out, they just kept piling up in my drawer and taking up space that I need for my everyday products. I wanted something to store them where they were on hand but not in the way. Enter leftover wedding favors!
We used these as reception favors and glasses for our guests. Instead of a name, I am going to label them for body, face, and hair samples. They match our current bathroom decor, they look great on the counter, and are the perfect size for sample items! (I also loved all my wedding decor so much! I love when I can reuse it again!). Bring on the samples!
If you want to see how I made these for the wedding, you can go to my post here!

How do you store your samples until you use them?

  2. What a cute way to house all your samples! I'm afraid I'll end up with tons of samples lying around the house which is why I've never signed up for Birchbox. I've heard it's neat though! Have a great weekend!

  15. I never go in Sephora...now I will. I am such a sucker for sparkle and new color for my eyes or lips. I have so much that I keep some in little bags - probably way past its shelf life. :)

  17. Love your jars! Good idea. Nice and see-through so you know what's in them!

I like Ulta because it's a lot closer for me but I go to Sephora too when we are in the "big city" :)

I usually don't use a lot of samples because I am currently using all product I love and don't want to change for a while! However, if I do get a common sample like tooth paste, shampoo, perfume, etc. I have a basket in our master bathroom bottom drawer where we keep our travel stuff so it's easy to grab and go when packing! It's kind of fun to try out a new scent or shampoo when traveling.. it's kind of like a treat! And hey, I always have bad hair days when traveling anyways :)
