Delirium, Birthday Babe, and Instagram

So, I went a little nail polish crazy this last week. I'm not even really sure why I continue to buy normal nail polish. Since I work in a hospital, I am constantly washing and using alcohol to clean my hands, and normal nail polish lasts about 1 hour. No joke. It becomes sticky and tacky and rubs right off. A year ago I invested in a gel polish machine (another blog post in the making). It is a life saver. It's the only polish I use on my hands. But I continue to buy regular polish - I love OPI - and I just use it on my toes. Here are my finds this week! You can choose to ignore my really long toes if you like.
Top left: Called Birthday Babe from OPI. It looks awesome in the bottle. And since my birthday is in like 3 weeks, I thought "perfect"! The polish went on great, as all OPI does, but I was slightly disappointed of the color on my nail. I just feel like it washes my skin out a bit. Notice the furry photo bomb. He refused to get out of the picture (bottom left). But I am a sucker for sparkly and glittery things, so I know I will still use it again.
Top right: Charmed I'm Sure from LOreal, and Delirium from Ruffian. I have yet to use the LOreal, but I think it is a great fall color. I really like the Ruffian. It went on great, and lasted for-ev-er. Like weeks. I liked the darker color as well, and I will definitely be using this again. I may even be convinced to go back and buy another from birchbox (bottom right).

Overall, nail polishes were a success! Secondly, I thought I would get on this instagram band wagon and share some recent photos. These aren't all from this week, as I am relatively new to instagram and sometimes forget I have it (I'm telling you, I am behind the times). Seriously, I had to have my college roommate show me how to even use it. I love it, but it took some getting used to. Without further ado, here we go!
Top left: I came home from work Sunday to these flowers waiting for me from the hubs. He's so sweet. Most of the time.
Top right: One of my favorite fall pics. This was taken on our way to the campground. Yes, my dog is 70 pounds, and yes he insists on riding in my lap. I can't say no to his cute little face - he's my fur baby!
Bottom left: This reunion is happening. In a week and a half. I literally cannot wait. I love these girls so much! Can you pick out my twin? Haha, silly question.
Bottom right: I have spent the last two weeks watching the St. Louis Cardinals. We're two winning games away from making it to the World Series playoffs. Who is Yadi you ask? The all star catcher. Literally the best in the league. They play again tomorrow, after playing a terrible game today. Go Cards!

What is your favorite fall polish so far? I hope you are having a great week!

  1. I feel ya on how pointless it is to paint your nails when you work in a hospital. I'd love to have perfect polished nails everyday but that isn't realistic when you wash your hands or use hand sanitizer every 2 minutes!

  10. Those polish colors are fun!! I always buy nailpolish too, even though it never lasts more than 24 hours on me. I don't even have a good excuse like working in a hospital, I just can't sit still and wait for it to dry! I'm excited to hear about the gel polish machine!

And those flowers are too sweet :-)

  11. The polish colors look so pretty! I can totally understand you. I always keep buying new nail polishes although they never last very long. A few month ago I also invested in a gel polish machine. I don't know what I would do without it! I love to use a nude gel color and paint a regular nail polish on top. That way I get to use all my nail polishes and painted over a gel manicure the polishes last a lot longer.

  14. My dog is an overgrown lap doggy too! I may need to start doing gel on my nails too...my polish doesn't last longer than a day and I hate having to go get them done at a salon. If I could do it myself that be awesome.

  15. Both of my boys love to sit in our laps. They think they are lap dogs. Buddy is a 40 lb blue heeler that thinks he is a little boy. Scout is a 60 lb lab / dalmatian mix who also thinks he is a little boy. They are spoiled rotten and I wouldn't have it any other way!! I didn't know that you could buy gel manicure machines for your house! I have never had a gel manicure so I don't know much about it, but that sounds like a good option!
