BB Cream, Powder, and Texturizer Review

Happy mid week lovelies! As promised, I am going to review some of the products that I purchased about a week ago. I have used them more than enough times to tell you about these. Since I worked all night last night, I am going to jump right in so I can go snuggle with my pup and sleep, and gear up for the St. Louis Cards game tonight! Woohoo! Send all your happy thoughts this way!

LOreal BB Cream Review
This was my first time using BB cream. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I was hoping that it would be a great coverage with a "lighter wear" and lighter feel. I was a bit worried about it matching my skin tone. This product was pleasantly surprising! The "light" shade matched my pale skin tone great, and it went on so smooth. It felt like a light form of coverage, but still covered spots of redness and blemishes. I basically used this all week instead of my foundation. I apply my foundation with a brush, however with this I used my finger tips. It worked great. I will definitely be buying this again. I am sure I will try out other brands, but I loved the BB cream overall!
Neutrogena Powder Review
I wanted to try some new face powder - I was just getting bored and unimpressed with my old brand. Neutrogena was my pick because my face does well with it and I have very few breakouts with this brand. I loved that this palette incorporates a bunch of colors. The powder went on well and blended easily with my skin tone (I can get ghostly pale in the fall and winter), and was easy to wear with the rest of my normal makeup. I would definitely give this product five stars! I will be buying this again!
Big Sexy Hair Volumizer Review
This texturizing powder was recommended to me by a coworker when we were talking about how limp and lifeless our hair can be. I have thin, fine hair that has trouble holding volume. She suggested I try this. I happened to have a coupon to Beauty Brands so I took a chance and bought it. I really, really like this product. It works great, and gives me simple easy volume when applied at the roots. Tip: less is more! It took a bit of experimenting but I figured out the way to apply it that works best for me. I am sure everyone's hair is a bit different. I will say it again - you do not need a lot! If you over apply, your hair will feel thick with product and be difficult to style. I have always been a fan of this brands hair products, so it does not surprise me that I love it. The only down side is the cost. This will set you back $15.00 for this little bottle. However, since you don't need to use a lot I feel that it will last me a while.

All in all, I think I had a pretty successful beauty haul!
What do you use to get volume in your hair?

Happy Wednesday!

  4. Good to know that the BB cream works well! I don't switch my foundation often, because my skin tends to break out like crazy with new stuff, but I've been curious about BB creams.

  6. I use Garnier's BB cream and love it! I used to use that Neutrogena powder years ago and it was great. I've used a voluminizing powder before called Dust It and loved it. I went to Sally's looking for a cheaper knock off and their stuff it horrible! Made my hair frizzy and did not give it any volume! I'll have to check out Big Sexy Hair's powder.

  7. I'm not a huge bb fan because I have oily skin but I tried a sample of that one and actually liked it! I'm unsure if i need the light or medium shade though so I've held off for now, but it's definitely my bb cream of choice for the future!

    1. The light shade worked great for me and I am pretty darn pale. If you are a little tanner then you could probably use the medium!

  8. I have a problem with limp lacking locks, I've grown my hair and the second it grew past shoulder length it went instantly flat. I'm guessing it just gets weighed down! I'll definitely be picking up the BigSexyHair powder if I can hunt it down in the UK! Thanks for this post - really helpful!

  14. Great products. I've used a different brand of BB Cream and was very happy with it. Next I'll try the type you've recommended. I'm excited about the texturing powder too! Sounds like we have similar hair types so this makes me very excited.
