DIY Wine Bottles

I while back I needed some "space fillers" for the top of my kitchen cabinets. I knew I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but that I wanted it to look cute and be able to be present in the summer and fall seasons.
I just happened to have some wine bottles - I save them for DIYs like these, and decided to have a go at it. This is what I came up with.

DIY Wine Bottle Decor

You will need:
-a hot glue gun
-wine bottles
-twine (any thickness)
-any other burlap or accessories (optional)

I made five, each different. I have 3 clumped together in one spot and 2 in another along with a vase. This project is so easy that it's ridiculous.
First you will want to decide what side of the bottle will be the "back", because that is where you will start gluing the twine. That way the beginning of the string and the hot glue won't show. And then you can wrap! You will have to periodically put small drops of glue to prevent the twine from sliding. But you can do all kinds of patterns and varying thickness of stripes.

A helpful hint - the thicker the twine the less wrapping you will have to do. Wrapping the bottle that was completely covered was a bit tedious and would have been more so had the twine been thinner than it was. I picked the ugliest bottle to cover completely. It was a hideous color.

Here are my finished products, and how they sit on my cabinets!

With the twine, these will still last me through fall for decorations. Feel free to attach buttons, burlap, or other accessories as well!

What DIYs have you done for fall?
